News From Hungary! vol. 14

Veszprém

Emails were two days late this time, but they were waiting for me this morning—Yay!

Transfer!

So I haven't been transfered yet, but next week is when transfers will happen and everyone thinks that I will be leaving Veszprém. I also think that I will be leaving Veszprém, and I am excited for that, but I am also a little bit sad. I really love Veszprém, it is by far my favorite place that I have served in.

So,

Yesterday Tuesday
Not a lot happened, just did some tracting and that sort of thing. It was good, we got one potiential Investigator. But not much else happened. The end of a transfer is always hard, everyone feels like they need a refresher about this time. Just one more week though and we  will be there.

Monday
it was pretty good, we went on a hike with the branch had a Hungarian Barbecue, and taught Ica a little bit all in the same morning/afternoon. It was super good, and fun, Ica loved it and she says that she is still praying about getting baptised so maybe we will get to hear about whether or not that happens. I did get pictures of the hike kind of, but I forgot to get any pictures with me in them :-(
Sorry.

Well, I would have liked a picture of Brandon, but these are beautiful.  (Actually, pics of the people he went hiking with might have been nice, too. ) But I'm glad he'll have these to look at when he's home again.

Sunday
Um, nothing too special happened, but we did help a homeless man get to the hospital. He wasn't badly injured and I am not sure why he needed to go to the hospital, but he is old enough that the government here just pays for his medical bills, so I guess that he is getting taken care of.

Saturday
I finished a companion exchange, or splits, or whatever you like to call it. But it was good, we were working with the Zone Leaders here in Veszprém and we found 13 potiential investigators. We are super excited to get into contact with them and see if they really will investigate and accept the gospel. I was serving with Elder Ballard, and I don't know if you all remember or not, but he was my second companion back in my first area Tatabánya.

Elder Ballard and Elder North
So serious!

Friday
We started our split, there wasn't a whole ton that happened. We did meet with Ica though, and we helped her understand a little bit more why she needs to get baptised. It seems that somehow we didn't explain clearly enough that... Well, hmm. We needed to better explain that she couldn't expect to go to the Celestial kingdom if she decided to remain with the Catholic Church, and also that she needed to be baptised with proper authority. It was kind of difficult, but she seems to have a better understanding now.

Thursday
We had District meeting, MCM, and English Class. One of our newer investigators came to Angol Óra and he loved it. We will be visiting him sometime soon. And hopefully we will be so busy with investigators that tracting will be a more rare occurance. Especially since we are running out of buildings that we haven't yet tracted.

Wednesday
A missionary who has already gone home, and who was once my Zone Leader, came by and visited. So Elder Seeley and I took the opportunity to ask him for a referral. We got one, we have been having trouble contacting them, but we will do it sometime.

This picture was sent to me via text message by the
(unnamed) missionary Brandon mentioned above.
Love the matchy-matchy ties!

Tuesday
We had a Zone Conference. Which means that every moment that was not taken by zone conference was spent traveling. I guess we did still have enough time to do a Game night with the youth and some investigators.

Monday
We visited this kind of crazy inactive member. He was smoking and relaxing out front of this antique bookshop that he runs, and when we asked if Sándor was there he said.
"No, not yet, but he will be." So we were like. "Ok" and went inside to see what kind of books were in there. There was a ton of books. I almost bought Tom Sawyer in hungarian. But I decided not to. After a bit Sándor walks in and tells us that he is Sándor, (which I honestly kind of suspected) and then he challenged me to a game of chess. He beat me. I have never been good at chess, but I figured that if he wanted to play then I may as well play. That is really about all that happened. We invited him to church, I don't remember what he did say, but I do know that he didn't come to church. Ah well.
I will send pictures in a separate email.
love you!
Brandon.

No Mom Notes today (beyond what I added to the photos). I'm glad he's doing well and is happy. And we'll see what next week brings when transfers happen.
