it is!
Grid Rulers. They are my favorite pattern-making tool, and at the top of my sewing-favorites list, too. I want about five of them—or at least one 18-inch ruler and one 12-inch ruler. Bruce laughed at me the other day when I told him I needed more grid rulers. I used to have three, but two of them broke long ago, and the remaining one (being made of clear plastic) frequently disappears when I'm sewing. You can find them in fabric stores and art-supply stores, Bruce. ;-)
Merry Christmas! A four-record set by Readers Digest that I listened to over and over when I was little. I particularly want the recording of Deck the Halls that was on it—it's pretty cool. Anyway, if you own the records (I do) you can go here and download an MP3 of the whole set. But it would be nice to get this particular gift before Christmas. ;-) Just sayin'.
A Negative Scanner. Working on pictures for my dad just solidified my desire to get all my old negatives onto my computer. (This one, based on reviews. I think.)
A good Mortar and Pestle. I have had a lot of trouble with my mortar and pestle sets lately. My first, lovely, marble set that I had for years fell off the counter; the mortar survived, but it fell onto the pestle and snapped it in two. :-( I got a second marble set, but the mortar cracked along the grain of the marble and broke in half. :-( Sadly, the new pestle is the wrong shape to work with the old mortar. I really need a new set.
A Spice Grinder would be awesome too. Because sometimes the mortar and pestle just take too long. You can get it here.
Books. Children's books. Children's books that I owned forever and then were destroyed by children who were not me, to be exact. (Can you guess who I mean?) All on my Amazon Wishlist. (Hardbound is preferable. ;-) )
After sixteen years my faithful hand-blender (immersion blender) is just about completely worn out. (It still works, but it has a very hard time of it. And it smells funny.) So I need a new hand-blender: The Braun Multiquick 7 Hand Blender, model MQ777 would be fantastic. (It's the latest version of the model I have now. I figure if it lasts sixteen years, that is awesome!)
Hair for George. I'd need five medium-length nylon hanks: an evenly-mixed blend of two Nectarine and two Marmalade hanks, plus one hank of Mango-Tango. Available from dollyhair.com. He needs eyelashes too.

Bruce Adolphe's Piano Puzzlers sheet music. (From my favorite—OK, the only one I know of) radio game show (NPR's Piano Puzzlers). Bruce Adolphe takes familiar tunes and rewrites them in the style of famous composers, for example My Favorite Things in the style of Bach, or Jingle Bells as Chopin might have written it. Fun!
A good X-Acto knife set—the Deluxe Hobby Tool Set, in fact. See it here. The Basic Set would probably be OK, but the Deluxe set would be awesome! ;-)
And the X-Acto Precision Soldering Iron and Hot Knife Tip (here). Did you know you can use a soldering iron to seal polyester fabrics as you cut them? (This keeps the fabric from fraying. Cool. But just for crafts; not for sewing—unless you like plasticky-edged seams in your dresses.)
A Mandolin. Not the musical instrument (although that would be way cool too), but the food slicer. I want this one.
I need a new LDS Hymnbook (the big one) and a new LDS Children's Songbook. Mine are in terrible condition.
We don't watch TV, but I love to snuggle under a blanket and shut down my brain with a favorite movie at the end of a day. So here's a list of movies:
Sherlock. Ok. Technically this is a TV show. But I never saw it until Lindsey grabbed it at the library ...and then we were all hooked. Guilty as charged.
The Prince of Egypt
Mr. Holmes I loved this one. But then, Ian McKellan is awesome.
You've Got Mail Why don't I already have this one?
Or this one? While You Were Sleeping
Arthur. Yes, the kids' TV series; I think it's hilarious! (And I can keep it in my Grandma-stash, as I am looking forward to being a grandma some day. ;-) ) I love the episode with Yo Yo Ma, and the Ballad of Buster Baxter episode. And almost any of them that feature D.W.
These spice bottles. When one of my spices runs out, I have been going to the store and buying a square bottle of said spice, thus slowly been replacing my old spice jars with new square ones (and putting my own labels on them). Then, lo and behold! King Arthur Flour has the exact same bottles for sale—and in a set of six, which is exactly how many more I need! (And costs less than replacing the spices—and would take a lot less time, since the only ones I need now are the ones I don't use as often.)
Well, this list is getting pretty silly. Not only that, but Bruce (knowing that it's coming) told me I should post it before Thanksgiving so that he can shop. I'll think on that. In the meantime, there's one last thing that I really, really want:
Time. Time with my family. Games to play, treats to make, songs to sing, places to go, things to see, time to spend together (video-game/computer-free). And photos of all of it.

I hope that we get plenty of family time before, after, and during Christmas time. Also, didn't we used to own While You Were Sleeping?
We used to own it. Until I lent it to someone.
