October's Good News

Here's what happened in October:

October 1
I got the kitchen and half of the hallway painted! It took longer than I thought—as is usual with me (I always think I can work at the speed of light). But it is done and it is lovely!

October 2
More work getting done in the kitchen. Very exciting!

October 3
My "new" kitchen is looking great! Still in progress, but so far so good.

October 4
I got my report back in Intro to Fashion, with a"100" marked on the top. The teacher said, "I usually give '99's' because no one is perfect, so a '100' from me is really something." Yay me! And we got out of class early too; that's always nice. And I found out that the big project I thought was due tomorrow is really not due for another week. Whew! (So why is it nearly midnight and I'm still not in bed?) Good night.

October 5
When I got home from school tonight my lovely family had done a great job getting the house cleaned up—it needed it! It's very nice to come home to a nice place and not have to worry about taking care of it.

October 6
I did very well on my first mid-term assignment: making a pattern for, and making a half-size woman's dress. This is a fun class, but it takes a lot of time!

October 7
Got out of both classes early today. Bruce did some work in the kitchen for me. It's gonna be cool!

October 8
Bruce had an early day, and I had no school today, so we had lunch together. ☺ And we got to work on the kitchen together. And I finished my sewing sample book for Int. Sewing. Yay!

October 9
The microwave is re-wired and installed, and the counters are done! And I had lots of help and cooperation from my family today.

October 10
Melanie and family came over to visit tonight!

October 11
I got a lot done today—school, grocery-shopping, dinner, sewing homework, and even a short nap! And I found out that I don't have class next Monday—I like my classes, but early-outs and days off are really nice!

October 12
The sun shining across the valley onto the Oquirrh Mountains was beautiful. A lovely way to start the day.

October 13
Tonight we went to Young Women in Excellence with Lindsey. It was a nice dinner and program, it was nice to be with people we like. And it was even nicer to spend the evening with Lindsey!

October 14
I'm just happy today! That's all.
:-)

October 15
I was home most of the day today. Nice!

October 16
This afternoon my family and I spent hours and hours putting old photos into albums. It was fun to see pictures of all my cute little kids and babies. And hey! I wasn't bad-looking! And Bruce was pretty darn hot! (He's not so bad now, either.) ;-)

Wait a minute! What's the date? I think I'm a day behind!

October 18
I had the day off from school today. I was supposed to go shopping for homework—sounds like something I'll have to do with Bruce this weekend. Anyway, I got the kitchen and bathroom clean, and did some laundry, and just got to sit around a little. Got my other homework done, too.

October 19
I did very well on my Int. Sew mid-term today. I knew I'd do great if it was a sewing test, but it was a written test—and I still did very well.
In Belly Dance we learned to do belly-rolls—which means the class all stood around in bewilderment while we watched our teacher do belly-rolls. Fun.
And Lindsey and the girls made dinner tonight. Yay!

October 20
I got most of my Patterns homework done before leaving class today.
Our friend, Aaron Hathaway, came over and "helped" Brandon put "new" carpet in his room tonight. Aaron did a fantastic job—the room looks great!

October 21
Did well on my Textiles mid-term, and got my dye project turned in for 50/50 points. And had a free evening to take care of home and family. Aahhh.

October 22
Oh, I really have to keep up with this, because I don't remember what happened clear back on Friday!

October 23
I finished, delivered and got paid for the curtains I was making. Went to the adult session of stake conference with Bruce.

October 24
We went to the Conference Center for stake/regional conference and got to hear Elder Nelson and Pres. Uchtdorf speak. Then, to avoid the massive exodus from Salt Lake City, we spent an hour at the Church History Museum before we headed home.

October 25
This morning as I walked through the fall leaves to school I was inspired for my first ever design that I have to make for school. When it's done, I'll post the picture, description, etc.

October 26
I drew my fancy dress and it looks really neat!

October 27
Student-led conferences for Ryan, Kaylie and Rachel this afternoon—my kids are all bright, talented, intelligent and wonderful! Their teachers say so.

October 28
I got my mid-term back in Textiles today. With 58 out of 60 I set the grading curve for my class!

October 29
I wore myself out staying up late and drawing the designs for my Intro class. But they are almost done, and they look good.

October 30
Brad, Becky and kids came over for Halloween dinner and trick-or-treating with us. We all enjoyed our annual slime punch, and then we got way too much candy. But the kids had fun.

October 31
Tonight we had dinner at Brad & Becky's. Becky made some really good chili; when I asked for the recipe she said it was my recipe! That was a good laugh. It tastes better when she makes it. :-)
